Guests can open a private ticket link without creating a Joomla account.
You do not need an account to get support. When a guest submits a ticket, the confirmation email contains a private link that opens that one ticket and nothing else.
Treat the link like a password
The link carries its own access token, so anyone holding it can read the conversation and post replies. Avoid pasting it into public forums, shared chat channels, or bug trackers.
If you lose the link
Open My Tickets and use the Find a ticket form. You need two things that must match the original submission:
- The ticket number, in the form
EHD-XXXX. - The email address used when the ticket was created.
Repeated failed lookups are rate limited for a short period, which is a deliberate protection against guessing ticket numbers.
Guest tickets compared with account tickets
| Capability | Guest | Signed in |
|---|---|---|
| Open a ticket | Yes | Yes |
| Reply and attach files | Yes | Yes |
| See a list of all your tickets | No | Yes |
| Access without the private link | No | Yes |
If you later create an account with the same email address, ask support to attach earlier guest tickets to it so everything appears in one history.
