Easy Table of Contents
Table of Contents Plugin for Joomla

Some articles need a short lead before the outline appears. This demo keeps two intro paragraphs above the shortcode, then continues with a longer body so scroll behaviour still feels realistic.
Use this pattern when your template already has a hero, product bar, or summary block and you want the TOC to start with the main reading path.
Why placement matters
Auto insert at the very top is perfect for pure documentation. Mid-article placement is better when the first screen already carries branding, pricing, or a demo navigator.
Readers still get a complete outline. They simply meet it after the context they need to understand the page.
Writing the lead
Keep the lead short: one problem statement and one promise. Then hand navigation to the TOC so people can skip ahead without losing the article structure.
Detail heading
Nested headings still appear under their parents in nested layouts. Flat layout shows every included heading in a single list, which is useful for compact side columns.
After the outline
Once readers jump into a section, scroll-spy and sticky options (on other demos) keep orientation. This placeholder demo focuses on position rather than sticky behaviour.
When to choose shortcode mode
Choose shortcode mode when different articles on the same site need different TOC positions. Keep Auto Insert for the default case, and override only the pages that need a custom spot.
Support and handoff
Agencies can document one shortcode recipe per content type. Editors then paste the token without opening plugin settings for every article.
