Version 1.2.12: 20 October 2026

• Download Key support on the update site (dlid).

Version 1.2.11: 19 October 2026

• Prints the calendar stylesheet and script with the page so Helix and other head-first templates still style the calendar.

Version 1.2.10: 19 October 2026

• Runs on Joomla 5 and 6 with the Behaviour Backward Compatibility plugins disabled
• Site and admin assets load through the web asset manager; helpers use the current database API

Version 1.2.9: 2 October 2026

• Event map zoom: new option in Configuration > Event page (and per menu item) to choose how far the venue map is zoomed on event pages. The default now opens one level further out, so visitors see where the venue sits in the town and surrounding area.
• Fix: the event page content area now uses the full content width when the event text is short, instead of shrinking to a narrow column.

Version 1.2.8: 1 October 2026

• Location after the content: the saved location card (photo, name, intro) now appears at the end of the event content, just before the share buttons, so visitors read about the event first. A new Location and map position option keeps the old top placement if you prefer it.
• Map below the location: the venue map now sits directly below the location card. When the event has no map embed code, the map is built automatically from the saved location latitude and longitude (OpenStreetMap, or Google Maps when that provider is selected), with an Open map link.
• Event hits in admin: the Events list has a sortable Hits column and Hits sort options, so you can see which events attract the most views.

Version 1.2.7: 12 September 2026

• Friendly event URLs: Individual events now use /menu-alias/event-alias from Calendar month, Events map, Agenda, Cards, Timeline, Dashboard, and Week menus (no ?view=event&id= query string).
• Public Events map menus can carry event pages, so a hidden Calendar month item is optional when you already have a public calendar page.

Version 1.2.6: 1 September 2026

• Admin Events list: Upcoming / Past / All filter (Upcoming is the default) so past events no longer clutter the main view.
• Fix: backend Events list start time now matches the edit form (no extra timezone offset on stored event times).
• Administration options: default Events list filter and past start date handling (Allow, Warn only, or Block save).
• Warns or blocks accidentally saving a new event with a start date in the past; existing past events can still be edited normally.

Version 1.2.5: 25 August 2026

• Install/update removes the mis-registered Smart Search plugin row (PLG_FINDER_EASYEVENTSCALENDAR with element easycalendar) left by older manifests.
• Enables the correct finder plugin (element easyeventscalendar) after install.
• Package preflight clears the old finder/easycalendar registration before child installs (avoids easyeventscalendar.xml copy errors on update).
• Fix: event and location edit Publishing sidebar now installs with the package (layouts folder was missing from the component manifest).
• Fix: saving a new event no longer fails with Unknown column a.id in WHERE when Smart Search is enabled.
• Fix: Smart Search plugin admin screen no longer looks for missing easycalendar.xml.
• Smart Search plugin service provider now loads the Easy Events Calendar finder path correctly.

Version 1.2.4: 25 August 2026

• Fix: new events now save as Published when the status dropdown shows Published (form default no longer lost on save).

Version 1.2.3: 24 August 2026

• Fix: Custom dates calendar now selects the clicked day (not the last day of the month).
• Custom dates picker: month header with label (for example August 2026) and previous/next month buttons.
• Custom dates picker: opens on the current month when Custom dates is selected.
• Custom dates picker: today is highlighted with a ring; chosen dates use Joomla primary colour chips.

Version 1.2.2: 24 August 2026

• Edit or skip a single date in a recurring series without rewriting the whole series.
• Customised and skipped occurrences are kept when the series regenerates.
• Optional: detach one date into a standalone event.
• Fix: upgrade install no longer fails with Duplicate column name robots (schema updates are safe; columns ensured in the installer script).

Version 1.2.1: 24 August 2026

• Timeline mobile layout option: Compact (image left) or Stacked (image above); Compact is the default for denser news-style lists.

Version 1.2.0: 24 August 2026

• Module map mode: sidebar event list beside the map; click an event to focus its pin and popup.
• Events Map (component and module): accent markers, scrollable popups kept inside the map height, map height follows the Map height setting.
• Map provider option: OpenStreetMap (default) or Google Maps with a Maps JavaScript API key.
• Fix: Leaflet map tiles no longer collapse under template or module image CSS.
• Fix: map search bar and module map tools no longer stretch tall under Helix form or button CSS.
• Fix: map list title and hidden clear button isolated from template styles.
• Shared map helpers for marker grouping and event detail map embeds.

Version 1.1.0: 24 August 2026

• Custom recurrence: pick individual dates on a calendar (Facebook-style), not only daily, weekly, or monthly.
• Events map menu layout: OpenStreetMap markers at saved locations, marker click filters the upcoming list below.

Version 1.0.4: 23 August 2026

• Friendly URLs: event links can use Calendar month (recommended) or other Easy Events Calendar menu items such as Calendar Dashboard.
• Docs: clearer Friendly URLs tab with Calendar month vs Calendar Dashboard callout.

Version 1.0.3: 23 August 2026

• Fix: Similar events, agenda, dashboard, and module thumbs now resize correctly when the image field includes a Joomla media fragment (#joomlaImage://).
• Fix: Calendar Dashboard event cards grow with their content so title, time, intro, and location no longer overlap.

Version 1.0.2: 23 August 2026

• Fix: site module Calendar Dashboard empty month grid when Display mode and Advanced layout were out of sync.
• Module Calendar Dashboard: month rail and year arrows load via AJAX in place (no Dashboard menu item required).

Version 1.0.1: 23 August 2026

• Admin: Locations menu item under Components > Easy Events Calendar (was missing on some installs).
• Locations: image, short description, map picker with bundled Leaflet (no CDN scripts).
• Event edit: saved location dropdown, HTML5 time picker, Location tab no longer 500 error.
• Event pages: saved location image and intro when linked.
• Maps: OpenStreetMap embed from coordinates when no custom embed is set.
• Fix: Dashboard module when selected day key is missing.
• Fix: Upcoming module layout on Helix and other templates.
• Fix: Menu page titles on component views.
• Fix: Month Events shown per day now limits day cells and shows +N more.
• Fix: Agenda Show images and Show event introductions options now apply on the frontend.
